I love fall running. Mornings are chilly, but afternoons can still warm up with the sun. Dressing for fall running can be a bit tricky since the temperature can fluctuate up and down. Also, if whether you’re a member of the sunrise or sunset squad, you are probably doing some running in the dark so reflective gear is a must. Today I’m sharing a few of my key pieces in my fall running wardrobe.
Lululemon Swiftly tops. From the tank to short sleeve to the long sleeve version, you can’t go wrong with this top. They don’t ride up on my hips, breathe well and the thumbholes are great for a chillier morning run.
Oiselle KC Knickers. Not as long as a capri, but still covers your thighs from the cool air they are a fall running staple for me. They are also still light enough so that if it warms up on your run, you’re not overheating. Bonus, there is a zip pocket that actually fits my iPhone 6. I’m really liking the Midnight Tribeca print this season.
Black Diamond Headlamp. Since moving to a more rural area, I’m finding my camping headlamp is coming in handy for running (and dog walking!). You never realize how much ambient light you have until you don’t have it anymore! I’m not sure what model I have because it’s older, so the link is to REI that shows all of the Black Diamond models they sell-good ones on sale now 😉
Oiselle Roga Hat. Okay, okay yes I know….another Oiselle product. I run for Oiselle so I may be biased, this hat is amazing. I’ve put it though the ringer and it’s still as good as new. Things to love about this hat: it’s light as air, the reflective details and the pocket (!!) where I store my house key.
Cheapie gloves. You know, those gloves that are sold at big box stores for $2 a pair. These are my go-to gloves for fall running. Why? Because I tend to warm up quickly but I hate starting my run with cold hands. They are easily taken off and shoved into my sports bra and if I lose one of them on the run I’m worried that a pricier glove has gone missing.
